Descriptions
Bed:
Supported by cast iron columns, internally ribbed, providing great vibration absorption under the most different machining conditions. The induction-hardened and ground prismatic and plane guideways constitue a self-adjustable system assuring permanent saddle contact on the bed. These features offer rigidity, stability and accuracy to the full power machine operations. Toolholders and 8-station disk type automatic turret (optional) The C 420 lathe can be equipped with different types of toolholders, according to the machining process requirements: quick change toolholder, rear toolholder, Gang Tool System, 8-station horizontal axis electrically driven turret.
Headstock: Driven by AC motor through pulleys and poly-V belt, continuous speed variation. The main spindle is supported by high precision bearings permanently lubricated. The high load capacity bearings provides rigidity and high vibrations absorption under the most severe cutting conditions, therefore, obtaining excellent-precision parts.
Romi Manual Machining Package - RMMP (optional) This application allows the user to operate the machine in manual mode and auto mode. There are three levels of operation according to the skill of the operator:
Manual Mode
The operator machines the part as a conventional lathe by the Control Apron. In this mode, manual operations such as Parallel Turning, Taper Turning, Radius Turning, Drilling and Groove can be performed.
Cycles Mode
In this mode the machinist operates the machine in semi automatic mode. He fills in the conversational screen fields for feed, speed and cycle data, approaches the tool manually by the Control Apron and performs the cycle by pressing the Cycle Start button. Cycles as Drilling, Tapping, Groove/Parting, Thread and Roughing/Finishing Turning can be performed. There are fixed cycles and free form for turning. The filling in of the cycles fields are aided by Graphic Screen.
Teach In Mode
In this mode the operator during machining the first part saves the operations step by step into a program for execution of the same program later. Manual operations and cycles operations can be saved together into the same program and the programs can be saved in the CNC memory or Flash Card. Note: There are conversational screens for machine setup (Workpiece Zeroing and Tool Measuring).
