The Romi M-Series lathes are extremely versatile machines that can be used for machining many different types of parts. They offer the user superior productivity and precision.

The interactive numerical control of the M Series provides the ease operation of an engine lathe with the productivity of a CNC lathe. These features are combined with high rates of metal removal, rapid positioning and excellent machining precision.

Headstock
Driven by a wide range AC motor, both geared and gearless headstocks are available with continuously variable spindle speeds. The main spindle is supported by permanently lubricated high precision bearings.

Tapered roller bearings and angular contact bearings are used in the spindle designs. The bearings high load capacity provides rigidity and superior vibration dampening under the most severe cutting conditions. The result is precise parts with the desired surface finish.

Control Apron
Provided with the electronic handwheels that control the manual movement of the X and Z axes, switches and a joystick.

The control apron is outside the guards and can be uncoupled from the carriage for automatic operation.

Lathe Bed
The bed is supported by cast iron columns. The bed and columns have extensive internal ribbing to provide superior absorption of vibration during any machining conditions.

The plane and prismatic guide ways are induction hardened and ground and constitute a self adjusting system that guarantees full contact of the carriage on the bed.

These features are critical to provide rigidity, stability and precision during high stock removal operations.

Carriage and Cross Slide
The cross slide guideways are induction hardened and ground.

The carriage guideways are coated with Turcite, a low friction material that enables precision movements and fast acceleration and deceleration. For greater lubrication efficiency the Turcite has an extensive system of oil grooves that allow the smooth flow of oil as well as lubrication retention in key areas.

The low friction material and the effective lubrication system guarantee greater resistance to wear of movable parts, providing longer machine useful life.

Turret (optional)
The M Series lathes can be equipped with different turret types, designed to support heavy duty machining operations.

Steady Rest (optional)
The M Series can be equipped with different steady rest types, designed to support large parts like wagon shafts, petroleum tubes, etc, during machining operation.

Tailstock
With manually operated quill. Heavy duty structure provides the necessary nigidity to support heavy parts and heavy cutting.
